Holland Kwok, born in Hong Kong, arrived in the UK in the 1950s.
He began working as a kitchen helper in London’s small Chinese restaurants.
He believed that Chinese cuisine deserved:
A cleaner image
A more premium dining setting
Better hospitality
High-quality fresh ingredients
In 1979, he used his savings to open The Good Earth.
The restaurant reflected his philosophy:
“Good food, good quality, good service.”
His son, Andrew Kwok, later joined and expanded the business.
Together they have turned it into a multi-location group while keeping it family-owned.
